How's your bracket looking? Mine was trashed after day one. By day three, I had only one team left in the Final Four. Pretty sure that meant I wasn't winning any pool.
However, that shouldn't stop an 'expert' from continuing to make picks. This 'expert' is here to tell you who will win the next Sweet 16 round of games. I wouldn't make any bets based upon this, but that's on you. Here goes:
Game one has Loyola vs Oregon St. Hard to believe but Loyola is a big favorite. Sister Jean does her magic again. Loyola wins
Next comes Baylor vs Villanova. Baylor was one of the two best teams most of the year before running into Covid issues. Villanova isn't the same team that won recent championships. Baylor advances easily.
Oral Roberts was the biggest surprise last weekend. They won two games only their namesake would have believed beforehand. Number 3 seed Arkansas is next. No more surprises. Arkansas wins.
Jim Boeheim seems to always get his team to the Sweet 16. It helps that his son, Buddy can stroke the 3-ball. They'll be the underdog against Houston. No big deal because Buddy keeps scoring and Syracuse heads to the Elite 8.
Gonzaga is the best team in the tournament. Creighton hasn't been this far in decades. I hope Creighton enjoyed their week in Indianapolis. They get to go home after this game. Gonzaga wins easily.
Michigan vs Florida State may be the most interesting game of this round. The Wolverines are the Big Ten's last man standing. In a tough one, they'll still be standing in a close game. If you haven't heard, Alabama is a football school. If you haven't heard, UCLA is a basketball blue blood program. The football school won the SEC regular season and their tournament. Lew Alcindor, Bill Walton and John Wooden all left Westwood decades ago. Roll Tide.
Finally, it's a battle of the Pac whatever. USC and Oregon shocked their higher rated opponents in round two. They Trojans won't need Lori Loughlin to pay off anyone because they have the best player left in the dance. SC to the Sweet 16.
So what do you think? Good luck this weekend, unless you have something better to do- Brian Williams.
