Another October, another Sunday, another Moving Day
It's almost time to go for another walk in the park. It's almost time for another Moving Day.
We do this every October. Thousands of people gather together to help raise money and awareness, in the fight against Parkinson's Disease. Patients, caregivers and supporters moving united as one along the lakefront. When you see the water, the sun and the walkers, it's almost a spiritual experience.
We do this every year....rain or shine...and we've seen both. The Parkinson's Foundation puts on this event, which give us an opportunity to bond as a community. We get to share our stories and experiences. We get to show our empathy and solidarity.
More importantly, the money raised, almost twenty-two MILLION dollars, helps to fund programs to make the lives of people afflicted with Parkinson's Disease better.
Moving Day is celebrated in dozens of cities throughout the United States each year. This Sunday, in Chicago, it's our turn. We'll continue to do this until there's a cure for Parkinson's Disease. Hopefully, that's sooner than later.
So c'mon people...let's get Moving!
