Can Donald Trump embarrass himself and us any more?
Since January 20, 2017, it never fails. Every time you have something to do or even just sleep in a little, you miss a national drama. Every. Single. Time.
I wake up this morning at 9:30. Maybe I should have woke up earlier? I look at my phone. My Facebook and Twitter feed is going crazy. My first thought is what did this dolt do now? Then I found the above tweet. WTF man...WTF!!! You can't just help yourself and you never learn.
My first emotions were embarrassment. For him, for me, for our country.
Now I know it's not just myself who feels this way. I knew the Democrats would be outraged. I didn't think we'd see this from Lindsey Graham: "Mr. President, your tweet was beneath the office and represents what is wrong with American politics, not the greatness of America."
Paul Ryan came down hard on him, too. Most Republicans who were interviewed about this did. It's a strange day when I'm in agreement with these people but today's that day.
The sad thing is we should be shocked by the President's remarks and we aren't. We've been through this before. Last year around this time was the "Grab them by the pussy" tape.
It looks like every year at around this time, he needs to say something to show us what he really thinks about women. Two years ago was the Megyn Kelly incident. "She had blood coming out of her whatever." What's with this fool and blood? Now there's three incidents of misogyny. He needs to offend women...bully women...and all of us.
What's even sadder is every day we lose respect for the office. Other country's leaders, including our allies don't respect him. They look down on him and mock him. When they do that, they're really mocking us because we elected him. Even sadder is we aren't shocked this happened and we won't be when it happens again.
There's a saying that when a person shows us who they are, believe it. Donald Trump keeps showing us who he is. I hope everyone starts to believe him.
