Celebrities living their life with with Parkinson's Disease
April is Parkinson's Disease Awareness Month. It's thirty days to spread the word about the disease that affects more than ten million people worldwide. That's 10,000,000 people!
Parkinson's doesn't play favorites. The age range goes from early-onset cases in their twenties to senior citizens in their eighties-nineties. A Parkinson's patient could be one of your neighbors or one of the biggest celebrities in the world.
Next month will be six years since I started this blog. That was about a year after I was diagnosed with Parkinson's, although the the symptoms were showing a few years before that. It was going to be my way of chronicling my journey with the disease. Although my blog has wavered from that goal, it always comes back to Parkinson's, especially in April.
During the last six years, some of the biggest names in entertainment, sports and politics have come out with their own Parkinson's diagnosis. Some are doing great and showing that you can be active and even thrive. There are others that are not doing as well. That's the reality with Parkinson's. No case is the same.
Let's take a look and see how these seven are doing:
