Congratulations, America
It's all over but the shouting…errr…counting. Another election is over thank goodness. Between the overkill of nasty political ads, men with masks and rifles stalking voting sites, and the constant talk of the red wave versus the threat to our democracy, it didn't seem our nation wouldn't survive the midterms of 2022.
But, WE DID!
In fact, it looks like we’re in better shape than we've been in years. It’s not because the Republicans won the House…maybe. It's not because the Democrats won the Senate…maybe. It’s because of the way the candidates have conducted themselves regardless of the results.
Shockingly, we've seen losing candidates give public concession speeches. Those who haven't have made personal calls to their opponents. We also haven't seen the claims of widespread fraud and stolen elections that was so prevalent just two years ago.
Who would have believed this? Obviously, not me!
Yeah, I know we still have more results yet to be decided. Yeah, I know we’ll still have plenty more to hear from Kari Lake and Lauren Boebert. But, overall, the 2023 midterms were a success…or at least a lot less painful than we expected.
Congratulations, America!
