Cubs-Indians World Series vs St. Paul and The Broken Bones: Another Conundrum
I seem to have a lot of tough entertainment choices lately. I know...first world problems, right?
I bought these concert tickets on July 7th, almost four months ago. I was pretty excited when I heard they were coming back to town. St Paul & The Broken Bones are one of my favorite bands. I saw them two years ago and loved the concert. I even wrote a review of the show. So when I heard they were playing at The Chicago Theater, one of my favorite venues, I went out and bought tickets immediately.
Of course being me, I had to make a snarky comment about it, right? "Watch....Game 7 of the Cubs-Indians World Series will be on that day. ⚾"
Who knew I could see into the future? I should have gone to Vegas or called a bookie, right?
Now it's not Game 7 but it's pretty close. How often do the Cubs get to a game six in the World Series? It could be another seventy-one years! This could be a once in a lifetime moment....it has been for a lot of people already.
Decisions!! FUCK!!!
I thought I already made this decision when I offered the tix to a couple of people but one turn down (not because of baseball) and one no answer so far have made me revisit this issue.
These damn conundrums!
The game does start at 7pm local time. The concert begins at 8 and there's an opening act so the guys will probably hit the stage around 9ish. That's two hours of live baseball plus I can always keep up with the end of the game on my phone while listening to the music. Of course, that will annoy all my concert neighbors and make me one of the biggest dicks ever but what else is new?
Looks like I may get another sleepless night to ponder this major dilemma. Pffffft. Sigh!
