Cystoscopy 2015
This is my first "column" of the year, so let's start to catch up on life things.
The Urologist saga continues!
One of the lovely Parkinson's side effects is Urinary Tract Infections. TMI? Hey, I'm here to educate as well as entertain!
Anyway... I need to have a urology consult. I get my primary care doc to give me a referral. I make a call to set the appointment. I've been referred to an OB/GYN office. I check my equipment and determine that I need to go to a different office.
After two weeks, I get another referral. It's at a Urologist at the University of Illinois-Chicago Hospital. Sounds okay, right?
In December of 2013, I had a spot on a lung. I went to a UI-C pulmonary doctor. I brought a disk with me. He took one look and in less than five minutes "You have a 75% chance of lung cancer."
This was without taking a single test. Three days later I get a call...nevermind, it's just an infection. Sigh.
We had a follow-up visit a week later. The doctor couldn't find the disk and blamed the nurses for losing it.
So I'm a little apprehensive about going back to UI-C. I'm pretty much expecting to drop my pants, have the urologist take a quick peek and being told to go home and put my affairs in order.
Hey...maybe the urologist will be a woman and it'll be just like my normal life!!
Welcome to 2015. I have more stories to tell. It's going to be an epic year!!!
