Do the Russians really believe there's a way to get their partner Trump back into office?
Do you remember when there were certain thoughts that you kept to yourself because you didn't dare to say them out loud? It wasn't that long ago. For example, since 2016, I always felt that the United States and the world would be better off if someone took out the character who was our last president. But, I never dreamed to make those thoughts public. I can only imagine what the comment section would look like if I posted that opinion here. I'd probably be longing for the day when spam was the only response to a column.
Apparently, that has now changed. Recently, both Lindsey Graham and Joe Biden have opined that Vladimir Putin should no longer be in charge of Russia. I don't know if they meant that he should be assassinated, but what else could they mean since there is no way he could be voted out of office.
Now that these thoughts can be publically voiced in America, it gives free rein for the Russian government to voice their feeling about presidential politics in the U.S. That led to Russian state tv host Evgeny Popov saying these words:
"It's time for us, our people, to call on the people of the United States to change the regime in the U.S. early, and to again help our partner, Trump, to become president."
Okay, maybe it's a tit for tat thing. You know, Biden and Graham are calling for the overthrowing of the Russian government so it's okay for us to do the same thing? It's only talk, right? Probably.
But, what if it's not?
Currently, there isn't a way to get Don back in the White House. He's so far down the order of succession to the presidency that he can't see the top. I have the same chance of becoming the president as he does. WOW! That's almost as scary as his reign was....almost. But that could change depending on the election results in November.
If the Republicans win back the House of Representatives, as they're expected to do, there's nothing to stop them from naming Trump as the new Speaker of the House. That puts partner-Trump only two steps from the top of the presidential org chart. He'd only be behind Vice-President Harris and the current POTUS Joe B. It would just be a matter of getting rid of them.
Hmmmm....that Russian talk about getting Trump back into office doesn't seem so far-fetched under this scenario, does it? And if I could come up with this bizarre plan, you can be sure Trump has already gone through this in much more depth. Hell, he's probably already had discussions with the Russians about how all of this will go down.
And all of this is because people can't keep their bizarre thoughts to themselves. Thanks, Lindsey. Thanks, Joe. Thanks, to whichever Russian official put those words into the mouth of Evgeny Popov.
