George Harrison's five best post-Beatles songs
Happy Birthday to my favorite member of The Beatles—George Harrison. He would have been eighty-one years old today. Let’s celebrate his life with five of his best songs after the band broke up.
I love this version of “Wah Wah” from The Concert for George. It rocks! Too bad I can’t find a video but enjoy the music. It’s number 5!
In the fourth spot is his tribute to his bandmate John Lennon, “All Those Years Ago.” The video makes it even better.
George didn’t write “Got My Mind Set on You” but he made it his own. That’s why it’s my number 3.
When it came to supergroups, no one did better than The Traveling Wilburys. My number two song is “Handle With Care.”
Harrison’s album “All Things Must Pass” is widely considered the best of all The Beatles solo albums. This is the song I want played at my funeral—and I’m far from the only one who does. Here’s a stripped-down acoustic version of my number 1 tune, “All Things Must Pass.”
