Happy #100 Aunt Sylvia
As the title says my aunt celebrated her 100th birthday last week. It's a rare feat. Think of all the people you know that are 100. Yeah...me too.
I hear there was a big celebration party. The youngest person there was 60...59 if my brother brought his wife. Life in the fast lane.
Her family also bought her a burger and fries. They said it spiked her sugar levels. The thing about being 100 is you don't care about that stuff. So it lowers your life expectancy about a week...big deal.
Seriously...think about what she's seen that we can only read about in history books. World War ONE started two months after her birth.
This is what a car looked like in 1914.
This is what a Cub uniform looked like back then. The player is Heine Zimmerman. He played for the Cubs on their world champion teams of of 1907 and 1908. My aunt missed that by only six years. No biggie...another one would be right around the corner.
I wonder if there was Blogging back then? Did they write in Morse Code? Subscribers were sent the columns by telegram?
Obviously she has seen a lot of life and a lot of changes in those years. Over a 100 year span you get to see a lot of good and not so good things. Today is a day for focusing on the positive.
Happy Birthday Aunt Sylvia. Congrats on making it to 100. May you have as many more as you want.
