Homeless Men Sing At The White House
When you think about the homeless your first thoughts are people living on the street, sleeping on a train or under a bridge or maybe being in a shelter. Next comes thoughts of addictions, mental or physical illness, and poverty.
But there are many stories that have happy endings or uplifting moments and on this Christmas Day, here is one of them.
The men in the above picture are part of a choir in Atlanta, Georgia. They all have different stories but their commonality is all are homeless. They gather together to practice a few hours a week. It's a way to get some shelter from the cold and more importantly, it creates a bond among them.
The Atlanta Homeward Choir has made a name for themselves by performing in their area and they came to the attention of President Obama. He invited them to perform at the White House last Monday. Before that they did an impromptu gig at the Lincoln Memorial.

I thought this would be a nice way to end 2015. A nice uplifting, upbeat story instead of something dark or recapping an interesting but sometimes painful year. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thanks for reading in 2015 and we'll see you in 2016!!
