I Wanna Take You Higher
When I wrote a piece on Medical Marijuana, I mentioned that we would be revisiting this and giving updates. Who knew that three days later we'd be talking about this subject again.
Word leaked out last night that Illinois Governor Pat Quinn would be signing the Medical Marijuana bill into law today. I had no idea of the power of my Blog. I write on Monday and by Thursday..Done!!! Anyone have anything they need from the government? Let me know and I'll see what I can do!!
I'm thinking that it's more likely the story in last weeks Reader might have made him sign the bill. Or maybe he just decided to do something for the good of the citizens of Illinois, who by the way, will be voters.
Either way, thanks to the Governor for his signature. You've won my vote back!!
Illinois will now become the 19th state to have legalized Medical Marijuana and it's requirements are the strictest. It's a four year trial program. Here's the short version of how you can get your drugs...errrr...marijuana.
1. See a doctor...by the way the doctor has to be certified by the state to give out the prescription.
2. Take a physical.
3. Make sure you have one of the 40 illnesses that qualify for this program.
4. You have to be approved by the state.
5. Find a dispensary. There will be about 60 of them throughout the state. You can pick one.
6. Send them an order of what you'd like to purchase. Two & a half ounces every two weeks.
7. Pick up your order.
8. Use it and feel better...hopefully.
Sounds like a lot of work, doesn't it? You're right if you think it does....and I gave the short version.
But at least marijuana will now be a law and can be useful to the people who really need it. It's not like California where it's simple to buy...and is also abused by those who aren't using it for medical purposes...but at least it's a start.
So making your plans. Relief is around the corner.
I do find it interesting that the Medical Marijuana bill is being signed on Jerry Garcia's birthday. Do you feel the Karma, too?!
