It was a bad week in the life of Donald Trump
"We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory."
Those were the words the Special Prosecutor Robert Hur used to describe President Joe Biden. He presented it as the key to why Biden wouldn’t be charged in a taking of classified material case.
You would have thought that those words would seal his fate. There is no way anyone could possibly be elected President of the United States after that, right? But then Donald Trump had the week from Hell. Let’s take a look:
At a rally in South Carolina, he questioned the whereabouts of Nikki Haley’s husband:
“What happened to her husband? Where is he? He’s gone. He knew. He knew.”
Michael Haley is serving a year-long stint with the South Carolina Army National Guard, in the Horn of Africa. As his wife said in defending her spouse, “Michael is deployed serving our country, something you know nothing about.”
It would normally be shocking that someone who used his privileged background to get out of serving in the military and has never had anyone in his family serve in the military would denigrate someone who is serving now. It would normally be even more shocking that someone who wants to be the commander-in-chief would do this. But, we’ve seen this multiple times in the past. When you trash someone who was a prisoner of war in Vietnam and call men who have been killed in action “suckers”, we know how you really feel. In normal times, it would be disqualifying for someone who wants to be President to say these things. These aren’t normal times.
He followed that up by telling our allies that not only wouldn’t he help protect them, he wants them to be attacked. This was a conversation he said he had with a President of a NATO country about a potential Russian attack:
“No, I would not protect you. In fact, I would encourage them to do whatever the hell they want.”
Siding with Russia is a bad look for someone who wants to be POTUS, especially after the murder of Alexi Navalny, but believe it or not, it’s going get worse—much worse.
On Thursday, it was rumored that Donald was going to Georgia to attend the Fani Willis court proceedings. He decided it was in his best interest to be in New York to see what was going to happen in his hush-money trial. There, he received the bad news that the actual trial would begin on March 25th—a little more than a month from now. No more delays in this one. If found guilty, the potential sentence is up to four years in prison. When you add in the $140K he paid her to keep her mouth shut, that’s a big price to pay just to have sex with Stormy Daniels. And if that wasn’t bad enough, although the testimony in Georgia was damning for Fani Willis’ reputation, it looks like that trial is going to be full speed ahead, too. Double burn! It had to be one of Trump’s worst days ever, right?
BUZZ!!!! HERE COMES FRIDAY!!!
In the New York civil fraud trial, Judge Arthur Engoran finally came down with his ruling on the damages the Trumps must pay. The number was three hundred -fifty-five million dollars. Let’s look at that another way—$355,000,000! That’s a lot of zeros! Oh, and don’t forget about the interest that adds up the total to more than $400 Mil!!
And he wasn’t done. Eric Trump and Don Jr. were fined $4 million each, plus Allen Weisselberg must pay $1 million.
And we’re still not done! The big guy can’t run a business in the state of New York for three years, while the offspring are banned for two.
Yeah, this thing is going to be appealed, but he has to find a way to put up the total amount of the judgment, plus interest. Where is he going to find that money? Maybe his son-in-law Jared can call up his Saudi friends, that’s if Jared even cares about these people anymore.
Wow! That’s quite a week. It was looking so good at the start and quickly turned to shit. Only Donald Trump could do something like this. I can only wonder what he’ll do to top this next week.
