It's April Fool's Day and my friends think I should ride a bike
Today is April 1st. You know what that means? Yep...it's the start of another Parkinson's Disease Awareness Month. To celebrate, I'll be doing a series on PD which will consist of two pieces a day, every day for the entire month.
APRIL FOOLS!!!!
Oh yeah...it's that day. too.
But back to this bike thing....people like to send me stories about Parkinson's. I really do appreciate it. It keeps me informed and I'll give you credit if I end up using it here. A few weeks ago my friends Karen, Polly & Marcy all sent me the same video. Btw...in this case I'm mentioning their names not to give them credit, but to see if they actually read my blog and if they're paying attention!! HA!!
If you watched the above video (click on the YouTube link in the video and it comes right up) you have to be thinking how cool is that? Yeah, me too. It's amazing how the brain and body works. You can see this with other forms of exercise and it's one of the reasons that a vigorous exercise program is recommended for Parkinson's patients.
So Summer is right around the corner. It could be fun to cruise around the Lakefront bicycle lanes. I'm heading out to look for a bike.
April Fools?
This is my 500th blog post on ChicagoNow. Here's the first one almost three years ago. They've gotten a lot better...really!
