It’s finally here. We’ve been waiting for this day for so long. By tonight’s end, it’ll be all over. We’ll finally know who will be the next President of the United States!
As Lee Corso says, “Not so fast.”
Four short years ago, nothing was decided until Saturday—five days later. And then, that’s when the shit really got started.
So are we having a relatively normal election or a repeat of 2020?
Well, here are a couple of predictions:
Donald Trump will declare himself the winner no matter what the numbers are. Last time he waited until 2:30 am on Wednesday. He’ll do it earlier this time.
I think the election is going to come down to Wisconsin. My feeling is that Trump will regain Arizona and Georgia while Harris will get Michigan and Pennsylvania. I don't have a feel for what’s going on with the state directly north of mine—even if multiple friends of mine have gone up to canvass (thanks for doing that).
I guess we will know more by the end of the night—or by tomorrow —or by Saturday —or by January 6—hopefully by inauguration day.
One thing is for certain— it’s time for Steve Kornacki. Bring on the shitshow and anxiety. If it goes bad, see you all in Canada in 2025.
