It is time for you to stop all of your sobbing
Yes it's time for you to stop all of your sobbing, ohh ohh ohh
There's one thing you gotta do, to make me still want you
Gotta stop sobbing now, stop sobbing now
Yeah, yeah, stop, stop, stop, stop
It’s been one week since the presidential election. I know that most of the folks reading this are sad, disgusted, in disbelief and every other adjective you can imagine about the results.
Since then there’s been a lot of anger as well as the changing of everyday behaviors. Plenty of you/us have been racked with anxiety and depression. Many of you/us have done things like stop watching the news because it brings up all of the above feelings.
I think one week of this is enough. None of this is going to change anything. At least for me, it’s time to get back to reality. I did watch one news/opinion show on MSNBC last Friday—and it was too soon. I watched Rachel Maddow last night—again, too soon—but it’s getting close to being back to normal.
If you aren’t ready to do this yet, I get it. I hope you are soon. I hope we all are soon because when Trump hires guys like Tom Homan and Steve Miller, you know there will be a lot of work to do in the next four years if we want to survive. The sooner we get ready, the better. So as Ray Davies and Chrissie Hynde said “It’s time for you to stop all your sobbing.”
It is time for you to laugh instead of crying
Yes it's time for you to laugh so keep on trying, ohh ohh ohh
There's one thing you gotta do, to make me still want you
Gotta stop sobbing now, stop sobbing now
Yeah, yeah, stop it, stop it, stop it, stop it
Wise words
