Jane Fonda Has A Parkinson's Blog
Two of my writing interests are stories about Parkinson's Disease and also music. Every so often they intersect.
I was doing some Googling and found out Jane Fonda has a Parkinson's blog. The reason for this is she's been in a relationship with record producer Richard Perry since 2009. Perry was diagnosed with Parkinson's more than ten years ago.
If you aren't familiar with him, Perry's best known for working on some Carly Simon albums and also did the production work on her epic hit "You're So Vain". He's also worked on records for Rod Stewart, Art Garfunkel and Ringo Starr.
When their relationship moved to the next level, Fonda told him he needed to take his disease more seriously if he wanted her to stick around.
Perry started seeing his doctor on a regular basis, eating healthier, exercising, doing Yoga and taking the right meds. These are all things every Parkinson's patient knows about and tries to do, but it isn't easy.
Fonda also asked and received permission to talk about Perry's ongoing fight in her blog. According to Jane, they've become Parkinson's "experts".
Sigh....Jane, honey....love you but there are very few experts on this. PD is too complex for any layman to have that kind of knowledge.
That's their story. Another celebrity in the fight against Parkinson's. Richard's got P.D. and Jane is writing about it.
Hey Jane...You're so vain...I guess you thought this blog is about you.
This blog started as a way of talking about my issues with Parkinson's Disease. You can read more about that here.
