Legendary musician Gregg Allman dies at age 69: Seven essential Allman Brothers songs

Gregg Allman passed away today at age 69. His career spanned six decades.

Allman had been in in ill health for a few years. He had a liver transplant in 2010 due to Hepatitis C. Recently it was announced that he was under Hospice care, which he denied but he died just a few weeks later.

While he had a successful solo career, he was best known as the leader of The Allman Brothers Band. Although the band recorded many studio albums, I'd say they were best known for their live performances and their live albums.
