Making the best out of a bad situation by feeding the homeless
Last weekend, 27 year old Quinn Duane planned on getting married. Keyword is planned because earlier in the week, her fiance got cold feet and called it off.
Quinn's parents had already spent $35,000 on the event and rather than just cancel it and eat the money, they invited Sacramento's homeless to have a meal at the Citizen Hotel.
When the first woman showed up, the bride's mother, Kari told numerous news outlets, " I was thinking at that moment, if she’s the only person that comes tonight, this was worth it,"
Ninety people showed up to dine on Salmon and Steak at the four star hotel.
The bride didn't show up for the dinner but did go on the honeymoon to Belize.....with her mother.
This nice story is part of the Faces of Homelessness series. Here's another upbeat story.
