Music From A to Z
This is an Ipod. Generation 1 or 2. Kids have no idea what it is.
I've had this thing for six years. Bought it used in 2008. My daughter helped me download songs. I'm still listening to those same songs. Right now it's Diana and the girls doing "Someday We'll Be Together".
I was in a rut. I woke up and went to sleep listening to the same stuff. Over and Over..and Over. Sigh!
I decided to try something new. I was going to listen to every song on this relic in alphabetical order. There are 734 songs. From "Across the Great Divide" to "Your Time Is Gonna Come".
Sixty-Two albums. Abbey Road to Woodstock. Musicians from The Band to The Who. Sorry Abba and ZZ Top fans...nothing from them.
I started listening three weeks ago and finished up yesterday. What did I learn about music and about myself.
I have 4 Sheryl Crow albums...too many! One or two is enough.
I have twice as many albums by Jacob Dylan than by his daddy, Bob.
I can't figure out how I have a Karla Bonoff album on here. I must have had a CD of hers at one time. Btw...she wrote beautiful songs. If she had Ronstadt's voice, she would have been a huge star.
My favorite letter is B. Beatles, Band, Blind Faith, Brooooose and Bob. It's alphabetical by first name.
Most importantly, I learned I need some new music. Ninety percent of these songs are from the 60's and 70's. Not only is the Ipod a relic, so am I.
Hey Amy...can you reprogram this thing?
