Parkinson's Awareness Month:30 Days-30 Stories/ Day 30-The Finale
Today's the final day of the month-long Parkinson's Awareness Series. YEAH!!
First off, thanks to the people who sent me ideas and links to stories. It made doing this so much easier. Also thanks to the Parkinson's organizations for helping when I had questions.
There were two thoughts in doing this series:
1. Helping raise Parkinson's Awareness. More than 10,000 people read something this month. Hopefully that helped educate and entertain.
2. The other was a personal writing challenge. Could I put something together for 30 consecutive days? Not only could I do that but I had enough material that I could go another 30 days. Don't worry...that's not happening.
What's next? I have some more Parkinson's topics I want to explore. Brain stimulation, alternative treatments, nutrition and so many brain issues. I'm good for another year.
I have some off-topic things to talk about, too. Ventra, stolen art, world-wide antisemitism and Donald Sterling. Nothing like light reading!
You might be wondering if there was anything over the last month that I really liked? Yes there is!!
1. I loved the Israeli restaurant that put holes in the soup spoons to show what Parkinson's could be like.

2. I really loved the story about Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart and the work he's done concerning the brain. http://www.npr.org/.../this-is-musician-mickey-harts...
Finally, thanks to everyone who read any of the 30 pieces. If for some reason, you want to read them all, just click on the little tab at the top. You can even read the series I did on the Beatles, too! Plus you can subscribe and get notices that I've written something come right to your email. What a concept!!
I'm taking a few days off to recharge and then I'm going to review the new book about the Allman Brothers Band. I'm sure all the people who hated my last review of the ABB are going to be very excited to read this.
Oh yeah baby....the South is gonna do it again!
