Parkinson's Patients Receive Treatment By Video Call
If you've read any of my Parkinson's posts over the last year, you know that getting to see a Neurologist has been a challenge. From the time I first started the process to the time of my Brain MRI's and follow-up appointment, it was about six months. SIX MONTHS!!
Lucky for me that I just have Parkinson's. Imagine if you're being checked for a brain tumor. You could die waiting for the tests or the specialists. Disgraceful and it's even worse if you don't have insurance. Even with Medicare, 40% of Parkinson's patients do not see a Neurologist.
Connect.Parkinson is a trial that will connect medical care to Parkinson's patients through their computer, tablet or smart phone.
Over the course of a year, they'll reach 200 patients. Obviously this is a drop in the bucket but if this works it will revolutionize health care, especially for people with chronic diseases.
