Parkinson's, Valium and Alzheimers: A Deadly Trio
Did you know that people with Parkinson's Disease have a two to four times higher possibility of developing Alzheimer's than the general population?
Yeah...isn't that great!
In addition to the tremors, balance problems, sleep issues, constipation, urinary tract infections and all the other shit that comes with PD, we're now much more susceptible to one of the scariest diseases imaginable.
Now there's a study that shows that people using Valium and other anti-anxiety drugs have as much as a 51% higher risk for developing Alzheimer's.
As I stated earlier sleep is a big problem with Parkinson's. Many PD patients take Valium or other benzodiazepines to help them sleep.
Personally, in addition to sleep problems, I get these internal shakes or tremors and occasionally take Valium to calm me down and help me relax. I'm very careful with these because I know how addictive they are.
So let's do the math....Parkinson's + it's higher percentage of developing Alzheimer's + Valium + it's higher chance of developing Alzheimer's = A really, really bad number!
Hmmmm....you think medical marijuana looks better now?
