Perspective
My last couple of postings have dealt with memory loss in a kind of joking manner. I try to keep it light but I was actually concerned about what could be found. Turns out I have a little thyroid problem. One of the symptoms...short term memory loss. DING!! We have a winner.
So I'm taking a pill that should take care of it. Definitely could be worse. Lots of people in my age range are dealing with memory/brain problems that are far more serious.
PERSPECTIVE!
Last night I went to a Shiva for a cousin's wife. A Shiva is basically a condolence call for Jews. Lots of Food.
I was talking to him about what happened. Last October, his mother, who was one of my favorite relatives, died. A few hours later, his wife was in a doctor's office getting the horrible news that led up to my being at the Shiva.
How do you deal with that? On the way home, I was thinking about my problems. I decided that it wasn't the time to dwell on them. Maybe tomorrow.
PERSPECTIVE!
Next Tuesday will be the start of Parkinson's Awareness Month. I was looking at the stories I have planned and there's some people who are overcoming some huge obstacles. No complaints. They just do what they need to do. Inspirational. If they can do it, so can I. So can you, whatever your problem is.
As i was leaving his house last night, my cousin said "The sun will rise tomorrow...and the next day. And long after I'm gone."
