Rick Wilson was lucky his skin cancer showed up on high def television
If you're a viewer of MSNBC, you're probably familiar with the man in the above photo. That's Rick Wilson. He's a Republican strategist, media consultant and author. He's also a harsh critic of Donald Trump...and that's an understatement. Wilson wrote the book "Everything Trump Touches Dies." His second book, dissing Trump and Democrats, is due to be published in January. He's now among the estimated three million Americans diagnosed with Skin Cancer this year. Rick Wilson was lucky. Being on television and social media paid off for him....and I'm not talking about the money. One of his Twitter followers, who's a doctor, saw him on television and noticed a mark on his forehead. He notified Wilson, who then went to his dermatologist. The mark was a basil cell carcinoma. The dermatologist removed it, put a couple of small bandages on his head and Wilson went on with his life. Easy peasy, folks. It's really that simple if you know what to look for and actually do an occasional search. Wilson made a couple of television appearances yesterday. He tweeted this:
Hi folks. I’m about to do a live shot and you’re going to see a Band-Aid on my forehead and one next to my ear.
One of my Twitter doc friends flagged a spot, and my dermatologist today cut out some basal cell carcinoma areas. Skin cancer is treatable. Get checked. — Rick Wilson (@TheRickWilson) December 20, 2019
The keywords in the Tweet are at the bottom. Skin Cancer is very treatable if you catch it early. Do a body check every month to look for new suspicious moles. See your dermatologist once a year. Rick Wilson was very lucky, but then he did something about it. We can all learn from his example.
