Spending the day with the fictional Donald Trump
It's the last Wednesday of the month so that means it's time for ChicagoNow's Blogapalooz hour. It works like this...we blog folk get a topic and then we have an hour to write about it. Since I'm spending the night...hell, the week..in lovely Grayslake, Illinois, where I'm told the most exciting thing is the local McDonald's, I'm gonna take a shot.
Tonight's topic: “What fictional character (or characters) would you most like to spend time with and what would you do together?” My choice is Donald Trump.
I see this character on social media and television every day. He tweets things that no real person would ever think about doing. Yesterday I saw him talking about taking away health care. He followed that up with how he should be on Mt. Rushmore. No real person would do this, would they?
The follow up question is what would we do together? I think we'd start in Washington D.C. He lives in this cartoon home called the White House. Maybe he can give me a tour and I can tell him about all the people that his policies would be hurting, if he was a real person. Then we'd go on a road trip....Me, Don, Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote. I can picture Donnie and Wile trying to cause some trouble but RR would lead them to the edge of the cliff. Can you picture the look on their faces as they're suspended in the air before falling. BEEP BEEP!
What do you mean Donald Trump isn't a fictional character? Really? What do you mean that he's President of the United States of America? Really? How is that possible? A real person could do the stuff he did in that campaign and still get elected? Are you F'ing kidding me?
Oh man....I thought the last six months was a cartoon show. Oh man...I thought being in Grayslake was bad enough and now this? I'm going to need something comforting. Good thing there's a McDonald's here.
