The Grammy Awards ceremony is only nine months away! Until the deadline in late August, musical artists will be dropping new recordings in hopes of winning the most prestigious award—the Grammy for Album of the Year.
They can stop right now!! If their goal is to win this award, they might as well wait until the cycle resets because no other than one of two women will be taking home the trophy.
In March, Beyonce released “Cowboy Carter” to near-unanimous rave reviews. Its twenty-seven songs and seventy-eight minutes of music give a different look to the Americana genre while also honoring the history of Black artists in Country music.
Normally, an album like this would be a shoo-in for the award, but guess who countered with her own epic recording?
Grammy favorite Taylor Swift has done it again. Her latest album “The Tortured Poets Department” one-ups Beyonce with thirty-one new tunes for a total of two hours of music. While the reviews were mostly favorable, there were more than a few that felt Taylor was just revisiting things from her past—again.
Still, the reviews didn't stop Swifties from finding and listening/purchasing the record. In every outlet where you listen to or buy your music, “The Tortured Poets Society” was at the top of all the charts.
So there you have it. Taylor with all her Best Album awards vs Beyonce, with all the overall Grammys but none in The Album of the Year category. It's almost like an Ali-Frazier fight. We’ll have to wait until January to find out who is the winner; but no matter how it goes, can we please get security to keep Kanye off the stage
I’m a huge Swiftie but the album seems a lot more of the same? Just listened to “Texas hold ‘em” from Beyoncé and WOW. Tough contest but B should take this one!
