The Greatest Canadian Song
On the Band's Facebook page, they're having a vote to determine The Greatest Canadian Song.
The contest was like a March Madness bracket. They're down to the Elite Eight, but the site is hard to maneuver. Plus I don't like the choices.
My taste in tunes is much better so I'm starting a contest to see what is really the greatest song by a Canadian artist. Now if your thinking about songs from Celine Dion or Mike Buble, you can stop reading immediately. Only one song per artist and here's my Elite 8, in no particular order.
Joni Mitchell- River
The Band- The Weight
Guess Who- Undon
Gordon Lightfoot- If You Could Read My Mind
Neil Young- Down By The River
Leonard Cohen- Hallelujah
Steppenwolf- Born to be Wild
Rush- Tom Sawyer
If you want to weigh in, you can comment below or on my Facebook page. Tomorrow there will be a Final Four. We'll match them up and have a winner.
