The Perfect Woman
I get a call from a former co-worker. She tells me that she's met the perfect woman. I asked what her partner of the last decade thought about that? She responds "not for me , you idiot, for you."
Now I don't know this person all that well. I do have to admit that I'm somewhat intrigued by what she thinks would be my perfect woman. To be honest, I don't even know that answer.
Here's how she's described... 59 years old, 5'2", average build, divorced a long time, one adult daughter.
Ok...so far so good. What's next? Well, she likes music and hockey. Ok...so do a lot of women. What's the real story?
"Howie, she hasn't had a date this century."
For most people that would be a warning sign. I at least want to know more. Tell me why! I need to know!
Apparently she met a guy who she thought was "Mr. Right." Turned out he wasn't. This was in 1999. Apparently she's had a little trouble getting past that. Well, maybe more than a little.
Now it's times for the big question. Why is she my perfect woman?
She says, " Besides the things in common, you can handle a damaged woman." Seriously, who the fuck talks like this?
She continues, " You have some issues you're trying to deal with. So does she. Maybe you can deal with them together?"
OMFG!! Now I'm not a relationship expert but this sounds like it's way too much for either of us to deal with.
" I'm sending you a picture and an email address. The rest is up to you." CLICK! ( you really don't hear the click on a cell phone )
Hmmmm....she is attractive. So it's been 13 years?
What the hell, right. Sent the first email. Got a nice reply. Sent another one. It's just coffee, right?
To be continued..........
