Will America be takin' it to the streets
You don't know me but I'm your brother I was raised here in this living Hell You don't know my kind in your world Fairly soon, the time will tell
The election is one day away! ONE DAY!!!!
While you may be worried and stressed about the results, how many of you are scared about what could possibly occur afterwards? Polls show that almost seventy percent of you feel that we're heading for violence in the streets of America no matter who wins the presidency.
We've already seen the start of this in the Texas last Saturday. A convoy of Trump supporters surrounded a Biden van that was trying to get to a campaign event. On Sunday, another Trump convoy blocked a bridge in New Jersey. We've also seen armed Trump supporters at polling places trying to scared off prospective voters. If this is happening before election day, we can only imagine what will happen, starting as soon as Wednesday, if Joe Biden wins the election.
It won't be any different if Trump wins. A new rumor says he will proclaim victory on Tuesday night if he's leading and is close to the needed two-hundred eighty electoral college votes. If he actually does that, all bets are off. The reaction could make the protests and rioting of this past summer look like a small child's birthday party. Even worse, what if the possibly legal challenges end up in the Supreme Court. The election could be decided by the three Justices selected by Donald Trump. Would they really disenfranchise millions of voters? It's scary to imagine this. But the reaction might be even worse.
Take this message to my brother You will find him everywhere Wherever people live together Tied in poverty's despair
The country may be the most divided since the Civil War. Understanding and acceptance of other citizens point of views and values is at an all-time low. To say that this election could possibly lead to another Civil War is hyperbole, but never say never. That's how deep emotions are running right now. If you don't believe it, and somehow feel safe and secure, check out how many stores throughout the country have already been boarded up with the election two days away.
As the song says, people are planning on taking it to the streets. Are you ready?
You, telling me the things you're going to do for me I ain't blind and I don't like what I think I see Takin' it to the streets
