Will Donald Trump quit the race for a second term as President?
It was a bad Saturday night in Tulsa for Donald Trump.
Six members of his advance team test positive for coronavirus. Only 6,200 in attendance for his rally at the Bok center. No one at the area for the expected overflow crowd. Punked by teenagers ordering thousands of tickets. A photo of a disheveled president looking like he went three rounds of boxing with Mike Tyson.
Yes, it was a bad Saturday night in Tulsa for Donald Trump.
The entire week wasn't any better.
Supreme Courts decisions that went against him in cases on LGBTQ rights and Daca. His own justice Neil Gorsuch writing one of the opinions. John Bolton's book getting a court approval to be published. His own niece is trying to put out her own tell-all book. More disarray at the Justice department. Polls, including one from Fox News, showing him trailing Joe Biden by double digits and losing in all the battleground states.
It doesn't look like this week will be a good one either. He heads to Arizona on Tuesday. It's a state where the cases of coronavirus have seen a sharp spike. The reason is the same for all the states that have seen their rates increasing. They opened up too early. They have a Republican governor who was egged on by Donald Trump wanting to get the economy moving to increase his chances of being re-elected. It led to more cases of coronavirus, more hospitalizations and more deaths. It's a total disaster and blame falls directly on Trump and his team.
You add all this together and it's enough to make a man give up. It's enough to make him want to quit. Is it possible that Donald Trump will be that kind of man? Will he possibly pass up the opportunity for a second term as President of the United State and slink away in disgrace?
Trump isn't that type of person. In his business dealings, when he fails which has been often, he normally just files for bankruptcy. Sometimes he takes a different route and cheat his business partners by not paying them for their work. Someone's past is usually a good way to figure out how they act and move forward into their future. It's more likely Trump will try to cheat his way to victory in 2020. He's already done it with trying to bribe the Ukraine government. Bolton said he did the same thing with China. You know he's going to try to suppress the vote in November. He's already claiming voting by mail will be racked with fraud that will cost him and Republicans their elections. he has his lapdog, Bill Barr, backing him up.
So I'd look for Trump to behave like this rather than to pack it in. But, you just never know. Maybe a few more nights like Saturday in Tulsa? We can only hope!
